Gifts of Fire

For some time, I have not been creating posts that focus upon events or people in my life, but was inspired to do so today.  Recently, my friend, Annie, called me to ask about the mandala pictured above.  She said she its symbolism created a strong emotional connection for her. It evoked a similar response in me when I created it. It spoke to me of deep mystical power; of strong spiritual guardians and a direct contact with the wisdom of spirit. 

Annie may not truly know how powerful she is, but she has all of the qualities mentioned above.  My daughter, Annie-Lori, who is named after Annie, has the same qualities.  Both of them are fire signs.  Both of them were born with wings of fire and souls filled with the fire of passion.  Both of them express that passion in everything they do.  Annie-Lori is a competitive runner who runs with the speed of lightning and the force of fire.  My friend, Annie, has the ability to overcome any obstacle put before her with the ferocity of roaring flames.  The fire of the love they extend toward others brings great warmth and joy to whomever is the recipient of this gift. 

LIke the Phoenix, fire energy can be reduced to less than a glowing ember that can still be regenerated into the manifestation of massive and magnificent flames that can reach great heights. It can be oppressed. It can be challenged, but the energy of a soul born from fire can be relentless in its quest to pursue life to its fullest.  At it's best, this energy is illuminating, magical and transforming.

Angels Among Us

Angels walk among us every day. There are those people that we recognize for their angelic presence...they almost glow from their radiant demeanor...their kindness extends to everyone and everything..their laughter energizes us and makes us feel happy deep down to the tips of our toes....and the angel babies whose smiles light up their faces and reach out toward everyone to envelope them with their love. But angels also walk among us in places and in forms not always recognized....their glow might be masked by an unkempt appearance...they may not fulfill an assumed expectation of piousness...their behavior is sometimes abrasive and impatient. Regardless of their physical qualities, their presence is, at some time, a catalyst to assist others to acquire personal empowerment, healing and spiritual awareness...lessons that sometimes require an unexpected or undesirable presentation to be fully realized. Personal healing is owned when there are no expectations of someone else magically infusing it. An angel may have walked into the landscape of your life to prod you into facing self imposed limitations. They may have appeared as a messenger offering an answer to your prayer. The answer is only effective to the extent that it is heard. If an angel came to help you would you know when it arrived?
